Marston Green Junior School

Learning for the future

History

At Marston Green Junior School, our History curriculum aims to develop pupils’ curiosity about the past and their understanding of how it shapes the present. We seek to inspire a love of learning through engaging topics that explore significant events, people and civilisations.

Pupils build a secure knowledge of chronology, which enables them to make connections across different periods of time. They are encouraged to think critically, ask questions and evaluate evidence. Through rich and varied experiences, our pupils develop a sense of identity and an appreciation of diversity, helping them to become thoughtful, informed citizens.
